Shelter is defined as protection, asylum or sanctuary; humans build psychological, as well as physical shelters. My art practice consists of the investigation of societal issues with respect to shelter, I then construct architectural environments and sculpture as a response to concerns. The constructs speak not only of the individual connection between the body and shelter, but also the correlation between shelter and the human condition.

Methods and materials from years of experience as a designer inform my studio practice; I build shelters that incorporate both simple and complex building systems, dependant upon the visual language required. In order to increase the breadth of visual and auditory language I have often collaborated with other artists working in the mediums of paint, sound, poetry and dance.
